FAQ

  • What is a CNC Router Machine? A CNC router machine is a computer-controlled cutting machine used for cutting and 3D/ 2.5D carving various hard materials, such as wood, composites, aluminum, steel, plastics, and foams to name a few.
  • What Types of Products Can Be Made Using a CNC Router Machine? CNC router machines are versatile and can be used to make a wide range of products such as furniture, signage, musical instruments, molds, and more.
  • What is the Precision of a CNC Router Machine? The precision of a CNC router machine can vary, but it is generally very high. The exact precision can depend on the specific machine model and setup.
  • How Long Does It Take to Set Up a CNC Router Machine for a specific project? The setup time for a CNC router machine can vary depending on the complexity of the project. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours… The latter being due to large cut files that need to be designed, and tool paths that need to be created.
  • Do I Need to Provide My Own Design Files? Not necessarily, customers typically need to provide their own design files in DXF, EPS, AI, PDF, supporting SVG, STL format if they have already designed their project and to reduce cost of their project. But depending on the nature of your project, we can usually do the design work for you, or if need be on the rare occasion out source the specific file.
  • What is the Maximum Size of Material That Can Be Cut & Machined? The maximum sheet size of the material that can be cut is 1600mm x 2600mm & up to 50mm thick (Depending on material & project type. For 4th Axis Rotary Machining, stock can be up to 1400mm long & generally 100mm wide. However wider stock can be machined after some additional pre-processing of the stock, and may slightly lower the length of stock capability by max 50mm.
  • How does CNC Fusion price their services? Our services are charged based on machine time, design/ tool path creation time & additional off machine labor time where applicable.
  • How Long Does It Take to Complete a CNC Router/Spindle Cutting Project? The completion time for a CNC router cutting project can vary depending on the complexity & size of the project.
